Weare Giffard Hall

Weare Giffard Hall was rebuilt after 1454 for Martin Fortescue, then altered in the late 16th century for Hugh Fortescue. Further remodelling, restoration and additions took place in 1832. It is not open to the public.

It is believed to be haunted by two apparitions. These are Sir Walter Giffard (died 1243) and what Coxe describes as a "loutish" ghost that states to witnesses, "Get you gone!"
